Updated(7/30/2004): I realized my previous submission for “Aging” was too depressing… so I created another drawing… How lucky it is to age when you can hug your grandkids everyday?

Updated(7/29/2004): Submitted for Illustration’s Friday theme “Aging”. An old sketch a while back… the idea of aging alone.
Still from the moleskine…
I love your drawings. I can’t wait for more submissions.
was looking today at your “moleskine” set on Flickr. . . there is something so wonderful in the quality of line in a sketchbook, the immediacy of it I guess, like this one, you had some wonderful drawings there I liked very much.
Yes! Can’t wait for the first aging result! Well can, but it will be great when I get there. Both great drawings!
yeah, that would be nice.. growing old to see your grandchildren..
although i like your second illo as well (or maybe even more). the angle and face expression is uniquely hard to picture in mind before actually drawing it. and the gloominess is captivating.
like the extremes between your two illos. god forbid anyone has to age alone, that’s incredibly depressing, but in our culture seniors are disposable, an annoyance, so i’m sure it happens every day. people are stupid, aren’t they? they figure their lives are so busy and important, they don’t take the time to chat with someone who has lived long enough to learn more of the answers
cheers,
kerry
I like both drawings, but obviously I hope one vision for myself…over the other. Family is so important…

Great drawings, I absolutely LOVE the top one.
The top one is most definitely a happier prospect. I really like your style…bold lines, a sense of motion…very nice!
