update(9-30-2005): I submitted this to Illustration Friday’s theme “Float”.
Wow ! You have talent !!! Nice gallery!
Where do you get your inspiration diong works?
this one is simple yet outstanding.
Jolo: a lot of it is stolen… err ‘appropriation’ from other artists that I really like. I’m really influenced by Pinoy artists the same age as me but already famous and accomplished: Borlongan, Garibay, Parial, Justiani… the Salingpusa group.
But the case is you have your style to–believe. And you’re making your own country proud of you.
I think I’ve seen some works of Borlongan at the SM Megamall Art exhibit area.
I can really relate to this one
very intriguing.
luv the details.. esp of those of the hands.. and hmm.. the captivating position of how he floats is crzy! buy i like it! ;p
I particularly like the distorted, weightlessness in his hands and arms
very relatable, i think we’ve all had that dream, and then when we begin waking up we feel a physical crashing back to earth! he looks so peaceful.
beautiful and so human, everyone can connect to this. I really like the almost woodcut effect your pencil marks make.
Incredibly beautiful! the lines, the movment, the gesture.. everything fits perfectly. such a wonderufl artwork.
love your pencil technique–I learned something from it
