11″ x 14″ pencil on paper
Did I mention here I obsessed with pencils?… And of course I’m not alone
For a long time I’ve been using Derwent but with this recent technique I switched to Faber-Castell. Well this makes me crazy… I’ve been looking for Faber-Castell HB(the ones I use the most) around here in Indy and there’re all gone! With the price of gas it is not good driving around different art stores in town just to buy HB pencils… I was so desperate I bought Faber Castell set (with one HB in it), which is not good since I do not usually need the whole range.
What’s that…? HB is an HB, just like the ones you buy in a grocery store for $1.50 for a pack of 10. Well I guess it is true… so Leica is just another Nikon or Moleskine is just another sketchbook… No!
I told you I’m obsessed… Well I guess I could order online… but that’s not fun because now I do not have any reason to drive to all those art stores…
You’ve been busy. I like this pose very much. You do very good poses. That’s something I’ll have to learn (by copying you).
I really like this! Love the hatching, especially! By the way, I’ve bought General’s Kimberley brand pencils in WalMart and chain craft stores and really, really liked the smooth leads and soft-sharpening wood. Good prices, too!
I’m also pleased that you linked to Pencil Revolution on the very day my pencil drawing was the first entry link there! Thanks!
Great drawing! I’ve never liked the Derwent pencils as they are cold steely grey. I use Faber Castell too but my favourite is Berol Venus. They may not look cool but they are a lot less gritty and a superior quality pencil IMHO!
Congrats Nita!!
