I submitted this to Inspire Me Thursday “Open Challenge”. I’m just continuing to draw on big 22″ x 28″ paper… but I haven’t been regularly drawing lately since I’ve been busy shooting pictures.

I am submitting this drawings to Inspire Me Thursday theme this week “Black and White“.

These are all drawn using ink wash on 22″ x 28″ paper. Ink wash drawings on large paper was actually suggested to me by an artist a while back… as going “back to basic”. I started working on these three drawings Friday afternoon and Saturday…

I have lots of white colored pencil on black paper drawings including the first entry where I tried convert this site to a “drawing blog” about a year and a half ago.

I found this site while browsing and created this one and this one . The app is very difficult for me to use since I am really not used to drawing with mouse and allows only limited amount of ink.

The playback part is pretty cool though.

I’m just trying to study certain techniques. “Am I drawing it the right way?” – Personal conversation goes into my head when I draw. On the left, I tried to draw my left hand the “right” way the best that I can. On the right, the process is not guided primarily by the subject in front of me but how I feel about it in terms of
lines, shapes, colors.

Drawing the hand on the left is more stressful because of self critical judgements compared to the free flowing process drawing the hand on the right. Whether it is good or bad, right or wrong, it really does not matter since it is more of a personal expression.
