24" x 30" Oil on canvas

(updated 03/24/2006) Submitted for I-FRI's theme monster.

I've been working on this for a long time, still needs to be touched up but I'm going to take a break and work on something else.

Clara is smart, intelligent, hardworking, honest, and all the positive traits that one could have; but she is miserable somehow because there is this devil that makes all these nothing... They claim she is free and yet she feels controlled. If Clara is a place... it is a place where something evil - power, money, status quo rules the land.

24" x 30" Oil on canvas

Another oil painting I finished this weekend.

Turmoil - A state of extreme confusion or agitation; commotion or tumult - Dictionary.Com

It seems appropriate to the news I'm reading back home.

I finally had the guts to start using oil again for painting. I have not used oil for a long time, I had to use pliers to open the tubes.

I did this to day on 24" x 30" canvas...

Step#1:

Step#2:

... still a long way to go finishing this piece.

Oil Still Life 2001 and on Creative Burnout

14" x 18" Oil on Canvas

Oil painting I did when I even sign my work as "Adiong", back in 2001, way back when I only do at most five works a year.

This creative spurt is wearing me down; worst part is when I really cannot come up with anything to draw or paint... no idea at all, even if I really wanted to do some more work. During creative burnout, everything looks so ugly, self doubt on why am I doing this again, who am I kidding. I know real artists who do this for a living just have the ability to turn on their creative source, they have to... But maybe that's it, I really do not have to draw or paint, I can just quit. But somehow I do not think I can quit, even doing this with no reason at all, even I do not have to.
