Though it is all writing code (drawing and painting are put on hold for now), I was able to spend the whole afternoon today taking pictures . I have an opportunity to use an awesome camera until December; it is not mine :-(
Here's the two sets of pictures at Flickr I took today:
What more can I say about the camera... I just love it. Classic look and feel of a traditional 35mm SLR camera with fully manual mode and convenience and power of a digital camera. It is a Leica.

I almost reached my allowed bandwidth limit for this month (2 Gig) so I turned much of the stuff on this site off for now. At the same time continue the development of the blogging engine for this site and redesign. But it is really tempting to just use pre-made ones... 5 minutes to install WordPress. Damn! Making me really think twice. More on this later...
Anyways, I move all the image files to Flickr then will just link images from there like this:

View the 10 pictures in the gallery...
I usually watch the Colt's game Sunday afternoon but since they are playing Monday Night Football this week, I decided to go to church.
Well "church" at least to me :-) I spent a couple of hours in Indianapolis Museum of Art today.
I like how the museum was redesigned (just reopened last May of this year). IMA is not as big as any other major museums but it has an awesome collection. I spent most of the time today viewing one gallery, and also as a ritual, looked closely and studied again one of my favorite piece in the museum.
It was a perfect autumn afternoon here in Indy and I took the opportunity to take some photos using my CoolPix 2100 with an awesome 2 megapixel of resolution :-)

I found this moleskine template hack a couple of days ago on to "turn your sketchbook into a storyboard".
So I had to try it and did my first storyboard drawings... just some stupid stuff actually :-)

Filipino version of a witch ('mangkukulam'). Growing up in the Philippines where you heard adults tell stories about them... this thing scared the hell out of me.
But I do not think Filipino witches use a couldron for spells, I just put that for effect... she's probably just cooking rice in there (haha). A Filipino witch could definitely pass as a Death Eater, imagine that a pinoy in Harry Potter :-)
Anyways, Penelope is currently having a "Draw a Witch" halloween contest. I do not think I'm going to submit this but I still want to explore this rich part of Philippine culture, like what Jio posted here... (tikbalang, kapre, aswang, duende) - Philippine mythological monsters and creatures.

That's Ron Artest... bulked up with 20 more pounds of muscle.
We went to the annual Pacers Fan Jam today. Pretty good deal: free parking, free entry to Conseco Fieldhouse to watch the 20 minute scrimage, free hotdogs, drinks and chips. I cannot wait for the NBA season to start.

1995(?) - This sums up pretty much how I draw a decade ago, I could not finish anything because I was trying to capture every line and became frustrated in the process.

1998(?) - Study of a Carabao
Revival week I guess... I'm going to find more old stuff I can post.

I was not sure if I wanted to post this but what the heck, here are the self portrait drawings I did during the 90's. They are really old (haha...when I still have so much hair). Especially the first one, I drew that when I was still in the Philippines. I did not draw or paint much because I easily get frustrated and too critical about my work; it was not fun... But looking back at these drawings, I think I was more patient to religiously capture the lines that I see back then. Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain was once my bible.

I saw this site was linked by About.Com yesterday. I only have a handful of links so it is always nice to discover new links like this.
Anyways, this was not a good week for me creatively (like what Penelope posts from time to time) drawing/painting seems just so difficult. Maybe I need to double my dose of Redbull or coffee :-)
